Regulators are a broad concept. AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) is a special type of generator voltage regulation. There are obvious differences in target object, signal source, response speed, control method and application level:
Target audience: Regulator is a broad concept that includes all kinds of regulator equipment and all kinds of target audience; AVR is the regulator of generator terminal voltage and the target audience is the generator.
Signal source: regulator signal varies according to type; AVR signal are sent from the end of the generator to maintain the end voltage.
Response speed: The response speed of the regulator varies according to type and design; AVR acts directly on the excitation system and responds quickly.
Control mode: The control valve has various control modes, among which AVR has various direct control functions such as constant power factor.
Application level: There are various application levels for regulator valves, and AVR is a unit level control.
